TTC Timeline

January 2010 – I met my future wife, at the time I didn't want kids, but future wife did, but not a deal breaker, just wanted to know where I stood.

March 2010 – I admitted to my future wife that I wanted to have kids with her to be a full family, one stipulation is, she quit smoking before we get pregnant.

July 1 2010 – My wife proposed, and I said yes.

March 2011 – I married my wife.

November (ish) 2011 – My wife tried Hypno to quit smoking, useful tool, but not fully successful.

January 2012 – There were numerous attempts by my wife to quit cold turkey.  It was a very stressful time period. 

March 2012 – My wife read the book The Easy Way to Quit Smoking by Allen Carr. 

March 20^th, 2012 – My wife had her last cigarette.  (Still hasn’t quite had her Ah Ha moment, but getting better.)

March 2012 – Get a referral from our doctor to the Fertility clinic.

April 18^th, 2012 – We get a call from the Fertility clinic that we are officially on their wait list for an appointment.

June 13^th, 2012 – We get a call from the clinic to schedule our appointment.

June 26^th, 2012 – Our first fertility appointment

July 16^th, 2012 – My wife and I go in for us both to have ultrasounds and follicle counts.

July 26^th, 2012 – I have an HSG, Polyp suspected

August 8^th, 2012 – Follow up appointment of ultrasounds, blood work and HSG.  Other than polyp concern both my wife and I are fertile. We find out my wife is CMV negative.

August 10^th, 2012 – Start Sperm Shopping

August 13^th, 2012 – Narrowed sperm options down to two.

August 14^th, 2012 – Purchased first three vials of sperm

August 27^th, 2012 – SHG/Follicle count and polyp confirmed and decided to remove it.

August 30^th, 2012 – Found out our donor is no longer in the system, and sperm is on nil supply.

September 10^th, 2012 – Found out surgery for polyp removal is on November 15^th, 2012.  Fair delay on trying to get pregnant.

September 17^th, 2012 – Find out there is 3 vials left for purchase from our donor.  We jump at the option. 

September 18^th, 2012 – Make Fertility acupuncture/massage appointments.

September 22^nd, 2012 – Had first acupuncture appointment.  Turned out it was with someone I went to high school with.  Small world. 

October 6h, 2012 – Had second acupuncture appointment and first fertility massage. 

October 18^th, 2012 – Ordered cheaper OPK’s (Wondfo) from Amazon to get to know my cycle.

October 20^th, 2012 – Had Third acupuncture appointment and second fertility massage.

October 26^th, 2012 – Pre anesthesiologist blood work

November 1^st, 2012 – Anesthesiologist consultation

November 3^rd, 2012 – Fourth Acupuncture appointment and third fertility massage.

November 8^th, 2012 – Internal Medicine Appointment, only because I have to. 

November 15^th. 2012 – Hysteroscopy, D&C, polypectomy; surgery to remove the polyp. 

November 17th, 2012 - More Acupuncture and my first Chiro appointment.  Chiro is awesome for my digestion.  

December 1^st, 2012 – My first triple session of Acupuncture, Chiro, then massage.  I walked out like Jello, great day. 

December 11^th, 2012 – Follow up with Dr. Regarding surgery. All is well and good to go. 

December 15th, 2012 – The last of my bi-weekly appointment, sort of.  In the new year I have to be a little more conservative with my appointments to make my coverage last the year. I had Acupuncture and massage.

December 21^st, 2012 – First Positive OPK
January 2^nd, 2013 – Cycle Day 1 of first IUI Cycle.False alarm.  Just pre spotting.

January 4^th, 2013 – Cycle Day 1 of first IUI cycle.  

January 12^th, 2013 – Acupuncture prep for IUI next week.

January 18^th, 2013 – First round of blood work to see if I have ovulated.

January 19^th, 2013 – Still no ovulation, but I think they may have read the tests wrong.

January 22^nd, 2013 – Second Round of blood work to see if I have ovulated.

January 23^rd, 2013 – Was told I did ovulate over the weekend (or on Friday).  They recommend monitoring with Ultrasounds and then using the Trigger HCG Shot. 

February 2^nd, 2013 – CD1 of first IUI Cycle.  Alas this has been said before, let’s hope this month is the time all this monitoring, preparation, surgery, and patience (that is running out) has been cumulating for.  

February 11^th, 2013 – Ultrasound to measure follicles.  The one to monitor is on the right side, currently at 1.5 cm

February 13^th, 2013 – Ultrasound to measure follicles.  The one on the right has grown to 1.8.  That means for Valentine’s day my wife gets to jab me with HCG and first IUI February 16^th.

February 14^th, 2013 – HCG Shot

February 16^th, 2013 – Acupuncture, then IUI, then Acupuncture is scheduled. 

March 1st, 2013 - AF showed up early as a BFN for the first IUI.++March 14^th, 2013 – IUI#2 BFN

April 12^th, 2013 – IUI#3

April 12^th, 2013 – IUI#3

April 26^th, 2013 – Faint positive, we finally got our BPF.
